Basics classes are for beginning yoga students and for anyone wishing to work at a slower pace. They provide the fundamentals of yoga practice introducing alignment, breath-work and basic meditation techniques. Strength and flexibility are gained in these classes preparing students for more challenging sequences in Open level classes. Open level classes do not require previous experience, but it is suggested that you have attended some Basics level classes and are familiar with sun salutations. They are taught in a more challenging, vinyasa (flowing) format that creates heat and endurance in the body. Integration of breath-work and meditation throughout allows students to begin to move deeper into their practice. Gentle Yoga A slow paced healing class suitable for all levels and ages. Postures are introduced in a slow, meditative manner, focusing on the healing and regenerative benefits of yoga. Perfect for those new to yoga, those with injuries or anyone interested in a slower paced class with a focus on releasing tension and healing the body. Practical Meditation is a weekly opportunity to set aside time for mindfulness, calm and the ability to be present. Classes will develop a theme, employing a variety of activities such as guided meditation, chanting and mindful movement. Appropriate for all levels. Restorative Yoga is for all levels . This class allows you to be effortlessly supported in different recumbent and restful poses. The only effort you need to make is to come to class, and the deep relaxation this style of yoga provides has been shown to improve circulation, reduce stress and improve overall health. It is being actively studied in medicine and the effects are proving to be profound. Rise and Shine is a class for all levels. Taught early in the morning, this class is designed to energize the body and steady the mind for the day ahead. Kids’Yoga is for children age 5-10. Yoga helps children to physically build strength, balance and flexibility. They also learn concentration, self confidence and how to access a calm breath pattern during stressful times. These classes are taught in a fun, creative environment with games, music and stories. Prenatal Yoga In this class you will be guided through poses and sequences to build strength and confidence in your body and mind during pregnancy. We will learn breathing techniques to help relax and guide you through childbirth while practicing poses that will help ease some of the common discomforts of pregnancy and strengthen our bodies for our journey into motherhood. Take time out now to bond with your baby and prepare you for the big day. Twilight Yoga offers a renewing way to unwind from your work week. This open level class will warm, stretch and strengthen your body with unique sequences. At the end you will be guided through a rejuvenating deep relaxation known as Yoga Nidra.
